Professional Development

UFLI Foundations

UFLI offers a wide range of professional learning opportunities for teachers, literacy coaches, school and district leaders, and higher education faculty. We work with schools, school districts, state education agencies, and non-profit organizations to build capacity and promote high-quality, evidence-based literacy instruction and intervention.
These experiences include face-to-face, virtual, and hybrid options.

The following are just a few of the topics we address:

  • The science of reading
  • Foundational reading skills, including phonemic awareness, encoding, and decoding
  • Dyslexia
  • Vocabulary development and oral language development
  • Reading assessment
  • Intervention for struggling readers
  • Multi-tiered systems of support
  • Reading fluency
  • Literacy leadership
  • Teacher preparation in reading
